Jewellery Storage Solutions

I like many other women (and men) have struggled to store my masses of fashion jewellery that I have accumulated along the years. I have a beautiful leather jewellery box for my fine jewellery, but my fashion jewellery tends to be all over the place!

Some in bags, some in drawers, some in trunks, desks, make up bags - everywhere!
And you know that it's always that one necklace that you always wear with that one dress that you will never find when you want it!

Well I have been scouring the Internet, stores, blogs for some solutions in the last few weeks and I have found some ingenuous ideas that have solved my problem!!

The Black Dress Double Sided Jewellery Storage Organiser Hanger. Long length.

This amazing item I found on eBay and was a snip at £5! It stores necklaces on the front and everything else on the back. Fits onto a hanger, and takes up no more space than a dress or shirt! What a brilliant idea! Just type the above name in bold into eBay and it will come up.

Here's a close up-

And the best bit is.....no more rooting around for hours! You can see what you have.

My next great find are these storage boxes from Ikea. Called SKUBB.
Available in all colours you can imagine and only £7 for 6.

I use these in my make up drawer but they are fabulous for jewellery too. Smaller sizes are great for rings and larger ones for necklaces!!

Another fabulous find are these hook hangers for belts and necklaces.

I hang my 'chunkier' necklaces on here as they take up more space and weigh more.
Fabulous for belts too. These are available everywhere but mine are from Primark. £2!!

As I said I keep all my fine jewellery in my leather jewellery box which takes pride on place on my dresser. It's very pretty and I love it even more now it is solely dedicated to my more special jewellery!

Hope this has helped! Let me know if you have any more storage issues that you would like looked into!

Royal Baby Cambridge.... my love of our monarchy

It was Friday 29th April 2011 that saw a new generation (me included) celebrate a joyous occasion that filled us all with the royal bug. It was the wedding of William and Kate. It was a magical day filled with excitement, love, parties, celebrating and cheers all around as they said there I do's (or I will as it actually is in the UK).
I held a party for some close friends and family, but enjoyed the wedding with my then fiance and shed more than a few happy tears and oohed at her dress as she stepped out the car. Even my now husband shed a tear (not that he would admit it), which proves everyone loves a good wedding.

It is now mid July 2013 and we are awaiting the arrival of a little baby Cambridge and I cannot wait! Royal mania seems to have set in again (at least for me it has) and I have purchased the usual plates, napkins, cups and banners with the British flag on them. I have my Victoria Sponge ingredients sat in the fridge waiting to be whipped up into a yummy creation and friends on speed dial.
But why do we get so excited?

For me it is the excitement of being witness (not directly with the birth obviously) to a great moment in history. In 1982 and the 1984 the world witnessed two royals being born and everyone was in awe.

Our parents talk about the day the babies were shown to the world, and how they knew these young men were going to be a important figure in there lives.
Well that is how I feel about the upcoming birth of the Prince or Princess Cambridge. This child will one day be our King or Queen. They will most probably adorn stamps, coins and notes we will use everyday. They will be in our lives forever and adorned in history forever. And to me that is all very exciting!

It is also a showcase of the love between William and Kate. The old fashioned values that they have lived by so far. The beautiful wedding after dating for a long time. The time they spent together before having a baby. And now awaiting the arrival of the completion of there family.

So I say hang the buntings, pour the Pimms, cover your house in Union Jacks, whip up a Victoria Sponge and celebrate this soon to be very exciting day. Enjoy the times in life that you will one day look back on and think- oh that day.....yes I remember...our King/Queen was born.

Louis Vuitton Neverfull GM - Baseshaper review

I recently brought a Louis Vuitton Neverfull handbag in the GM size (the big boy!)...
While I was researching the bag I kept coming across something called a base shaper for the bags. It basically sits at the bottom of the bag to stop 'it sagging'.

At the time of purchasing the bag I did not order one of these - they are not sold by Louis Vuitton but on eBay, amazon and various online places.
There are many different styles, Perspex, plastic, leather, suede effect, coloured.

Below is my experience with my Neverfull GM with and without the base shapers....

**************************************************

This is the base shaper I brought, a suede type feeling and look. I am pleased with the suede choice. Around £17 with delivery. This shows it in the bag at the bottom.

Base shaper in...

Base shaper out. Not much difference in looks at all!

This is my Neverfull GM with a lightish load. Looks great.

And this has a laptop in. So it does sag with a heavy load. Also if I loaded a really heavy book/ coin filled purse/ shopping load.

To show you the difference the below pictures are with the same laptop in, but with the base shaper in.

Much better shape! It also feels more sturdy to me.

Overview- Base shaper-
A good purchase if you will be carrying some heavier items in your bag.
-It makes it feel more sturdy.
-Protects the bottom of your bag.
-Creates an over all better shape when full.

Hope this helps! Any questions then just ask!

Louis Vuitton Neverfull GM Review- Holiday bag

I wanted to do an updated review on the Louis Vuitton Neverfull GM bag. I recently used this bag on holiday, and put it through its paces at the airport and abroad and wanted to share my honest thoughts!

Let me start by saying- I LOVE THIS BAG! So much! I love how it looks, how much you can get in it and the fact it can be converted into smaller sizes!

....................................................................................................................................................................

My Neverfull's holiday journey.....

Began at the airport, where I used it as hand luggage. Perfect size and really does fit loads in.
The bag felt very sturdy and held well with my 3 books, large purse, documents, make up, magazine and much more in it. It also caught many peoples eye in the queues, and why wouldn't it? Its gorgeous!!

The most testing time of the Neverfulls journey was when we got on the plane as there was very little space to put the bag up top, and I didn't fancy cramming it in as its so new! I therefore had it under the seat in front! The bag was fab as it is soft it fit right in place and didn't get in the way.

The zip pocket in the side is a great size and fit passports, phone, camera, lippie- the works inside!

After the initial travelling my bag made it to our cabin (we were cruising the high seas!!) and it took a well earn rest!

I used the bag for dinner and it complemented the casual look well. Its a great tote style bag. Very chic.

The bag went on a few days trips to Italy and France, and was a savour!! Fits so much in, while still feeling pretty lightweight! (Unless you really load it with things, but this is obviously going to make it heavier!) Great for shopping for those holiday pressies!

The Neverfull joined me on a more formal night and I altered the shape of the bag by bringing the sides in. Makes it look totally different and a little less 'day bag'.

The home stretch of the bags trip was again great. Fits loads in and kept all documents secure. Great for in an airport when you have to go in your bag all the time to get documents etc as there is no big zip fastening the whole bag.

....................................................................................................................................................................

Overall I give the bag 10/10 for holidays.

Great size for hand luggage/ day shopper tote/ evening bag.
Very sturdy and well made.
Secure zip pocket for valuables.
And its stunning!!!

Packing a suitcase.... Bag Lady Style!

I am due to go away on a cruise on Saturday and it go me thinking about packing! Love it or hate it, we all have to do it. I have friends who are pros at packing the ultimate capsule wardrobe, and others who follow the 'throw it all in and hope for the best' method!

I aspire to have a nice collection of packed items that are beautifully matching like this!

But unfortunately it more often that not ends up like this!

I am a terrible packer! I don't throw it in or succeed in having a capsule wardrobe, I pack too much or too little!
I get very stressed out that I may have forgot the important items. My must pack items are-
GHDs
Spanx
Make Up
Leggings
Jewellery
Make Up Wipes
Handbags
..................................and the list goes on and on and on and on!!

So my resolution for packing this holiday time round is to be calm, cool and not get stressed! Prepare clothes and pack what I need and not my entire wardrobe! I have been known to pack 18 outfits for a 5 day holiday! Ha!

There are formal attire nights on our cruise so I have a evening dress to pack. I also will be packing my husbands case and need to get a suit/tux in!

Wish me luck!!! (I think I may need it!)

Super easy Chocolate Muffin Recipe! Yummy!

I love baking and tried a new recipe the other week for muffins. I changed a few things to make them into CHOCOLATE CHIP FUDGE CURLY WURLY MUFFINS! So yummy!

This makes 12.

Ingredients-

1 egg
120ml Milk
4 Tablespoons of Vegetable Oil
180g of Plain Flour
50g Cocoa Powder
100g Caster Sugar
3 Teaspoons of Baking Powder
1/2 Teaspoon of Salt
1 Curly Wurly chilled in fridge
80g of Chocolate Chips
80g of Fudge Pieces
Muffin Cases

Mix the egg, milk and oil together with a fork to break up the egg.

Add the flour (I don't bother to sift mine!)and cocoa powder, caster sugar, baking powder and salt into the above mixture and stir well until there are pretty much no lumps.

Add in the chocolate chips (holding a few back to go in after) and add the fudge.

Break the curly wurly into small pieces. If you have kept it in a fridge it will break easily if not cut it up carefully! Add into mixture.

Mix it all together.

Spoon into 12 muffin cases so that they are 2/3 full. If you over fill them the muffins will spill out.

Sprinkle the rest of chocolate chips into the cases and put in pre heated oven (180 c) for 20-25 minutes.

They should be golden brown on top and have gone hard on top. Put a knife into a few to test them and there should be no residue on the knife.

Take them out and let cool. They will be hot!!! Be careful!

Yum yum!

Then enjoy!!

They will be gooey and chocolatey and light!
